The Animal Crossing: New Horizons paid DLC, the Happy Home Paradise expansion, appears to have been released a few hours ahead of schedule.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans were shocked and pleased when the 2.0 update was released early and it seems their good fortune is continuing. The first (and only) paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Happy Home Paradise DLC, is reportedly available for download in some regions.
The Happy Home Paradise DLC is notable for giving players the opportunity to create a whole new paradise away from their home island. Whereas the 2.0 update was focused around giving players more things to do on their home island, the Happy Home Paradise DLC lets players travel to an archipelago of resort islands. There, players will coordinate with the Paradise Planning Team to create their ideal island getaway, customizing the island and surrounding area to build the perfect vacation spot. The Happy Home Paradise DLC will also allow for certain custom designs that can be brought over to the player’s home island, but most of the new assets will be restricted to the resort.
Although the Happy Home DLC was scheduled to be released on November 5 at midnight local time, some players like Reddit user Gehweiher reported that they were able to purchase and download it early. The early release of the Happy Home Paradise DLC is not nearly as egregious as the early Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update, which was made available over a day before its scheduled release. For the paid DLC, it appears that it was released only a few hours before its scheduled release time.
